Mac & Cheese: John Legend Recipe

Image
Hey guys, I can officially cross something off my pinterest list. I haven't been as consistent as I wanted with the list but here I am. I decided to do this baked mac and cheese that was on my list. However, I was unfortunately missing one of the ingredients. Evaporated milk. I found this mac and cheese recipe, I think the reason I found it to be interesting was because of the fact that it was named, "All of Me" mac and cheese. Which if you know, that song is written by John Legend. I'll go ahead and tag the website so that if you would like recreate it, you can. Just finished boiling the mac and cheese. Unfortunately, it over spilled and made a mess. I took a little from the top. I was scared to eat this because it looked like it had too much milk because i put extra skim milk in place of evaporated milk. I ate it and it was so yummy, it made my meal prep easier and I really enjoyed it. I'm still struggling learning how to cook for one instead o

Kendra Scott: Danielle

Image
Kendra Scott Danielle in Magenta In Texas, one of the most popular jewelry brand is Kendra Scott. A little history behind Kendra Scott is that she started her brand in her guest bedroom and now she's rich as.. she's rich. She started in Austin, TX and has spread out throughout United States. There is one a few miles away from me in Orlando, but you can reach them in Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and other retail stores. What is super super cool is that they have birthday discounts. Basically, you bring your ID and give them your email and TADAA you get 50% off of one item or 25% off of decorations stuff. For my birthday last July, I got some Danielle's. They retail for $65 but I'm sure I got them for $32.50. Danielle are a classic style that people see and say, "Oh hey, thats Kendra".They are a little heavy but they have something called magic lobe and it relieves the pressure of the earlobes. I can't wear this style for more than 7 hours but I also

Hubble

Hubble!  Hi! I'm back and better than ever. Let's talk about hubble. Hubble is a contact business that basically sends you daily contacts for the low. I kept seeing ads about them and they offered a free 2-week trial. I decided to try it out since I was running out of contacts. Unfortunately, I threw away my last pair thinking that I had more so I was in a rush to get more. I felt confident in this brand because so many people were reviewing them and saying good things. Here I am, driving around Orlando with no contacts and by the grace of God I made it to work and home. I definitely was not trying to go anywhere I did not have to. With all this being said, I drove cautiously and aware that anything could happen. Anyways, here is how it went down. They answered me very quickly! My email is at the bottom & the response is at the top. You make an account and you type in your contact prescription for both right and left eyes. Then you put your doctor's informati

Kay Nailed It

Image
I booked my appointment for this nail thing around January. I found Kay on twitter and was super excited because she was located about 20 minutes around my old town in texas. She recently became popular overnight and became crazy crazy booked. It was crazy because you would have to follow her twitter. I was definitely lucky to even be able to book an appointment with her.  The appointment lasted around two hours and was great because she really pays attention to details. What was great was that she didn't catch any type of attitude with how I asked for my nails to be done. She ran a little late on her appointment before which was fine because I know how she pays attention to detail. Its kind of sad because people get extremely irritated and take it out on her and she can get her business from other people but she really makes sure the client is happy. Even if it is at the expense of her happiness or her assistant. She worked until 10:00 pm that night which is so crazy to me. She

The One Where I Treat Myself Right

Moving into this new year, I’ve struggled with a few things that everyone struggles with such as balancing life, school, and jobs. One of the biggest battles I’ve had to fight is one with myself. Depression. This is definitely not something I love to talk about anymore given that many people have different opinions. One of my favorite opinions I’ve heard is “You choose to be depressed”. It is crazy to me how people believe that depression is a choice. If you ask people about me, they know that I’m outgoing and happy. For me, I didn’t choose, to not be me. Anyways.. With this being said, I’ve decided to listen to myself this year more. To take the time to hear what I need. I’m doing this by getting my nails done, baking cookies, my pinterest bucketlist, face mask, hair mask, or even just taking a walk in a park. This last year, I purposely stayed busy by having two jobs, school and just sleep. I avoided listening to myself cry out. If I was lonely, I’d join a friend or just call it

Curls - The Cut

Image
Before... Ever since I damaged my hair a long time ago with chemicals (such as Brazilian blowouts and relaxers) I've had a hard time trusting just anyone to cut my hair. It took a lot of work and nourishment to bring these babies back and I didn't want someone to mess it up with a cut because my hair is what people recognize me sometimes with. I'd rather not look crazy. My mom would always try to take me to her friends and stuff and I was against it because LOL my mother may not have those friendships again if they mess up my hair. I don't care. They won't be friends after the melt down that I may have if my hair doesn't turn out like I would like it to be. However, I have this one hair that outgrows the others and my curls start to elongate all because it is time for a hair cut. Moving to Orlando, I did lots of research, asked people in the drive through at starbucks who cuts their curls, and tried to figure out how I wanted to do my hair. I wanted to do

Cheesy Jalapeno Popper Baked Penne

Image
Y'all! I've decided that this blog is going to be about the random things that go into my life.. I know that I haven't said anything about food but there IS a first for everything. SO! I'm going to write about this amazing recipe that I made. Oh my word. I almost want to swing by Publix and go pick up things to make this again. I literally ate this every day. Cheesy jalapeno popper baked penne. I 'm pretty good about following recipes, but sometimes I add my own little twang. The only thing that I different was add cayenne pepper (cause ya girl likes to sweat) and it was so good. I almost got on one knee to propose to myself! As much as I would love to take credit for this recipe, I owe it to Jo-Anna Rooney (really pinterest cause it took me to her blog.) I wish my picture was as cute as hers but realistically this is what my iphone could do and it was pretty freaking good. I usually don't make recipes twice but I definitely recommend this to my friends
